Diversity and Inclusion is a crucial part of NFI’s organizational strategy and values as it guides our culture and propels our business.
Our commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
We continuously strive to create a workplace where all people are valued and respected, have equal access to opportunities, and are encouraged to expand their potential regardless of race, ethnicity, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, or other diverse backgrounds. We recognize that diversity and inclusion is critical to our business success as it provides our employees with unique collaboration opportunities in a more innovative and engaged environment.
Our commitment to D&I initiatives starts with our CEO, Sid Brown. In 2022, CEO Sid Brown, along with other NFI executive leaders, joined over 2,000 CEOs across the United States in signing the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion pledge. Signing this commitment emphasizes NFI's promise to take action to cultivate a workplace where employees feel welcomed and important throughout the organization.
Sid Brown, CEO
“Our pledge to the CEO Action for D&I initiatives is another sign of our commitment to create and maintain an inclusive environment. This is both a promise to our associates and the customers we serve. While this is a significant step for NFI, there is no end to our D&I journey.”
NFI aims to create a more diverse and inclusive culture and workforce that embraces equal employment opportunities, broad perspectives, and engagement in our communities. The work to embed diversity into the company is led by an executive D&I Council, which was established in 2019 and represents every business unit. Our team focuses on five core areas:
Representation
Increasing representation of a diverse employee population
Advancement
Navigating career paths to provide equal opportunities
Inclusive Culture
Belonging is our standard
Leadership Commitment
Leadership will be visible, vocal, and engaged in D&I
Sustainability & Accountability
Embed D&I principles in our daily activities and decision-making processes
Employee Resource Groups
NFI's Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are voluntary, employee-led, and NFI-sponsored groups that are formed around common interests, backgrounds, or pursuits. Each group is open to all employees and helps to increase the inclusion and retention of our diverse workforce, drive employee engagement, and educate through programs.
ERGs contribute to NFI's success by strengthening and amplifying the voices of different employees within our company. NFI currently offers eight ERGs that employees can join, and we anticipate more to develop in the coming year.
