The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for delivering NFI Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to an assigned area. Broad responsibilities include training, employee relations, compensation, benefits and administrative support tasks. The role ensures excellent HR service to all levels of employees as an individual contributor. The Human Resources Generalist reports to Human Resources management, but is expected to maintain strong dotted line relationships with the leaders they support.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with HR colleagues on cross-functional initiatives to help implement new HR programs, processes and policies.
- Provides exceptional customer service with regard to day-to-day HR issues and inquiries on policies, procedures and processes.
- Handles employee relations issues including investigating complaints and provides guidance on day to day issues to managers.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Creates reports in association with business to help analyze retention issues, including headcount management and various transactions.
- Creates job descriptions and works with and obtains market, cost and competitive data with the Compensation department.
- Follows-up on new hire onboarding and employee transactions.
- Takes an active role in supporting recruiting activity and training of employees.
- Participates with team in the implementation of workforce and talent management programs across client groups.
- Required to maintain the confidential nature of all employee and company proprietary and privileged information used or observed in the course of performing job duties.
- Performs other related duties and project work as required and assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in HR Management or business,
- 3-5 years’ human resources experience; broad knowledge of employment law, recruiting, employee relations, training and employee development.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, tight timelines, and multiple priorities, in a fast-moving, constantly changing environment.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations on employment laws.
- Computer applications experience using MS Office Suite and Proven application experience of HRIS.
- Possesses a high degree of professionalism, maturity and confidentiality.
- Communicates effectively and can influence internal stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal communication, listening skills, critical writing and thinking skills.
- Can exercise good judgment and demonstrate a diplomatic and open minded approach.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus /Required in some locations
- Travel as necessary (20 - 25%)
Physical Demands
- Should be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation.
- May be required to perform duties beyond stand business hours.
- Required to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged period of times.
- Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling.
- Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office equipment.
- Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as telephone.
